League Officials
Officials: The following minimum number of officials are recommended for each dual meet (The Starter and Referee must be two individual people):
1 Starter 1 Announcer
2 Timers per lane 4 Place Judges
1 Referee 1 Head Timer
4 Stroke & Turn Judges 2 Scorers
Certifications: Stroke and turn judges, starters, and referees must be qualified by the LAL every two years, or at the discretion of the League Referee. USA Swimming, YMCA, and VHSL certifications are valid substitutes for LAL certification. USA Swimming Officials will remain eligible to officiate one calendar year after their official certification expires. The meet referee must be a certified stroke and turn judge and starter within the LAL.
